This article is meant to provide you insight on what you should expect to see when your Customer Success Manager helps you connect Okta to GoProfiles via API. Reading this prior to connecting the two platforms can help you walk through the connection process smoothly.
Before you start, note that in Okta, API tokens are generated with the permissions of the user that created the token. If a user’s permissions change, then so do the token’s. Although super admins, org admins, and group admins may create tokens, Okta recommends generating API tokens using a service account that won’t be deactivated and that has Super Admin permissions that won’t change.
Find your Domain.
- Login to Okta and click on your Profile in the top right corner, copy the domain (including .okta.com) below your email.
- Enter the domain into Merge Link.

Find your Token.
- Click on Security in the left hand column, and select API from the dropdown.
- Click Create Token and enter a name for your token.

- Enter the created token into Merge Link and click Submit.
